ELT, STEM and CLIL Curriculum Development & Teacher Training (China)
I worked with Kingswood Schools International as a consultant supporting the development and implementation of a STEM-focused curriculum integrating English language learning with subject-based instruction across international school contexts in China. The work centred on applying CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning) principles to support both subject understanding and language development.
My role involved writing over one hundred curriculum units aligned with STEM and CLIL methodologies, ensuring the integration of language objectives with subject content and a clear progression across levels. The materials were designed to support inquiry-based learning while embedding structured language support within subject teaching.
Alongside curriculum development, I designed and delivered teacher training to support effective classroom implementation. This included in-service professional development for teachers in China, focusing on CLIL methodology, language scaffolding, classroom interaction and practical strategies for embedding subject-specific language development within STEM instruction.
