In the best of times, the development of life competencies such as critical thinking, creativity and collaboration are crucial. When times are tough, these competencies are even more important. In challenging circumstances, students can find it hard to follow the usual curriculum - doing tasks which have life competencies embedded in them can be more effective both in the short-term as they come to terms with their new reality, and also in the medium and longer term. This session will look at a range of different activities which can be used to both practise language and develop life competencies whatever teaching situation you are in.
