Kano Literacy and Mathematics Accelerator
The aim of KaLMA was to build foundational Maths, Hausa, and English literacy skills for more than 37,000 Primary four to Primary six in Kano, Nigeria
The programme is rooted in 'teaching at the right level' evidence and approach, which involves assessing children on foundational skills and grouping them by learning level rather than age or grade level.
My role in the programme was as head trainer. I was also responsible for materials development and aspets of monitoring and evaluation.
During COVID-19, a wide range of alternative education provision was also provided through the programme.
